HIV & AIDS

Facing the issue of AIDS when it affects us or someone we love can be devastating. We may find that we feel conflicted between hope for a cure for this tragic disease and the hopeless feeling that we are faced with a terminal disease. We may struggle with grief over the ways our lives have changed as a result of AIDS and anger at others for not understanding our pain. An especially painful aspect for those of us who are gay and living with AIDS is the loss of so many of those we love to this disease, and the homophobia and prejudice that exists in our culture toward those struggling with AIDS.
