Adult Children of Alcoholics

Many of us who have grown up with an alcoholic parent or close relative find that we struggle with issues of setting boundaries and taking care of ourselves emotionally. We may find that we pick alcoholic spouses or friends and find ourselves again and again in the role of taking care of them. In addition, we may struggle with feelings of powerlessness, anger and abandonment. A good book to read for more information about adult children of alcoholics is: It Will Never Happen to Me by Claudia Black. The following counselors specialize in issues facing adult children of alcoholics:

Gary McMichael

Rusty Lynn

Ellen Luce

Kevin Ogle

Nancy Scott

Kathie Kurtz
