Our military families face the same family conflicts and stressors as all other families, but they also have additional stressors to cope with. Long deployments, frequent geographical moves, the stress of one or both parents being away from the children while on active duty, and the re-adjustment to coming back home all can create stress for military families. In addition, with the current levels of troop deployments to conflict areas overseas, some military families also must deal with issues of PTSD and adjusting to life after war has killed or wounded beloved family members or friends.
