Abuse

Counselors at Center for Pastoral Counseling of Virginia are trained to work with individuals, couples and families on issues of spouse abuse, child abuse, elder abuse, and with those who have a history of abuse in their past. Some people come to counseling to work on memories or feelings about past childhood abuse; others seek counseling because they are currently in an abusive situation with a spouse or significant other. Still other families are referred to counseling when a minister, teacher or friend has identified that there may be signs of emotional, physical, sexual or spiritual abuse of a child or a vulnerable adult taking place.
