Gwendolyn D’Aiutolo, M.S. Ed. is a compassionate counselor who is open to working with all ages from all walks of life. Her work includes individuals, couples, families, and small groups who are looking to process their feelings and experiences addressing such issues as:
- Loss/change
- Behavioral disturbances
- School or work difficulties
- Social/personal struggles
Awarded her Master’s degree in School Counseling from Niagara University in 2007 Gwendolyn comes to CPC with a background as a school counselor, working with preschool through elementary-aged children from socio-culturally and socio-economically diverse populations. Using a variety of age appropriate techniques such as art therapy, play therapy, and journaling she deals with a wide variety of issues with children and adolescents including:
- trauma from physical and sexual abuse, and other events
- neglect
- school phobia
- attachment issues
- transitioning to school environment
- academic issues – study skills, work habits, test anxiety
- social/personal skills including self-esteem and identity, friendship, anger management, worry/anxiety, bullying
- behavioral disturbances such as selective mutism, cutting
- loss/change, such as parental separation, divorce, or remarriage, a parent deployed in the military
- suicide
Gwendolyn also works with adults on numerous issues including:
- depression
- relationship and family issues
- work issues
- grief and loss
- boundaries
- self-esteem
- abuse
- trauma and related issues
