Francine Ronis has been working with families and individuals in the Northern Virginia area for more than ten years. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and holds Masters degrees in both Counseling and Development, and Early Childhood Education. She specializes in working with children and families experiencing relational problems, behavior difficulties and attachment issues, and new parents (birth and adoptive) around issues of bonding, positive discipline, and changing family dynamics . Francine also sees individuals struggling with issues of identity, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, relationship issues and trauma. She has worked for many years with children in the foster care system, adopted children, survivors of sexual abuse and children with disrupted attachment. Francine’s unique counseling style draws from a variety of disciplines, including mind/body therapy, cognitive behavioral techniques, mindfulness, mediation, play therapy and principles of attachment.
Francine facilitates a variety of workshops for parents including: Positive Parenting, How To Talk So Kids Will Listen, Mindful Parenting, Meeting Your Child’s Attachment Needs, and Fostering Positive Sibling Relationships. She also offers trainings for classroom teachers, and provides lectures for schools, PTA’s and parents and church groups. Francine also facilitates groups for children.
