Suzanne Doherty, PhD is a licensed clinical psychologist who has practiced as a psychotherapist in Northern Virginia since 1983. Suzanne’s clinical work is grounded in reverence for individuals’ stories and the power of relationship in the healing process. Although she has worked for many years with children and their families, Suzanne has watched her practice evolve to include adolescents struggling with identity issues and the problems of life in a complicated world, young adults venturing into independence, couples and older adults coming to terms with aging and continued meaning for their late years. She is also a trained Collaborative Divorce Coach committed to helping parents negotiate a painful process in a manner that protects children and preserves the dignity and integrity of everyone in the family. In addition to her counseling practice, Suzanne enjoys leading workshops in the community on a variety of topics.
