Carey Gauzens

Carey GauzensCAREY GAUZENS, LCSW, CP is a licensed clinical social worker, and is nationally certified in creative arts and experiential therapy. Carey received her Masters degree in social work from Catholic University in Washington, DC in 1990 and has more than 20 years’ experience in the counseling field.

Her work includes pastoral counseling, campus ministry, experiential therapy, grief and loss counseling, and several years of work in mental health, psychiatric, and crisis intervention settings.

Carey specialized in working with adult survivors of all types of abuse, especially sexual abuse survivors, and works extensively with individuals and families around issues of grief and loss and facing the end of life.

Carey works with individuals across the lifespan: from adolescents and young adults developing independence and forging their own identities in the world to senior adults facing aging issues and how to make the most of their post-retirement years.

She brings enthusiasm and humor to her work and a deep reverence for the human spirit and the spirit of God in us all.

Carey works with adults, adolescents, and seniors on issues of abuse, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, adjustment to life transitions, and family issues. Carey works at our Alexandria St. Luke’s center and can be reached on voice mail extension 255.
